On June 22, 2009, MediciNova, Inc. ("MediciNova") issued a press release (the "Press Release") announcing that Arlene Morris, a current director of the company, joined MediciNova's Audit Committee on June 19, 2009 and that, as a result, MediciNova has regained compliance with NASDAQ Marketplace Rule 5605(c)(2), which has a three member minimum requirement for audit committees. A copy of the Press Release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
